I check the drawing, advise where necessary on adjustments to the system and prepare the quotation. Another important part of my work is answering technical questions and solving any problems in the field. Sometimes these are simple problems. For example, two lines have no water because the pressure reducer is mounted the wrong way round. Other times it’s
a puzzle; for example when one house is wetter than the other. There can be many reasons for this.
In the Netherlands, I visit poultry farmers. I support dealers remotely. If I may give one important piece of technical advice? Hang the drinking lines carefully. You’re working with water at low pressure. If the line doesn’t hang completely horizontally, there’s a good chance you’ll get air bubbles in the system.”
